Remaining Summer Events

The Martinsville Public Library will be sponsoring 2 events open to the public at the Amphitheater in the next few weeks.  On July 20, the Phoenix Theater will present Rudyard Kipling's Just So Stories at 6:00 p.m. and on August 1, David Lusk will be here with "Leggo My Magic Show"  at 5:00 p.m.
On July 22, Bryan Headley, also known as The Singing Blacksmith, will be bringing his blacksmithing equipment for a demonstration as he uses his talents for blacksmithing, songwriting, guitar playing and singing to educate and entertain.  Bryan has appeared on Rural Heritage on RFD TV, Ag Life, PBS and many radio shows.  This looks to be a very interesting and informative evening!  Food will be available for purchase from Miss Barlow's and Sadie's Restaurant.
And then on August 5 the event families have been waiting for--the Redneck Pool Party beginning at 4:30.  One of our favorite bands, Battle Creek, will be playing during the Pool Party and food will be available for purchase.
On August 12, David Davis, the Singing Cowboy, will be bringing his trained horses to Linn Park for a demonstration of his horse training skills at 6:30 p.m.  He is also a talented singer/song writer who will be giving a concert after (or during) the demonstration.  What a unique opportunity to enjoy an evening outside.  Food will be available for purchase from Sadie's Restaurant and Miss Barlow's Cafe.
So mark your calendars for lots of summer fun!
